Back from the tour..

We’re back from a week of living out of bags, a week full of beer, fast food and Travel Lodge… oh and shouldn’t forget the gigs!! We had a blast on t’ road, better than we thought to be honest. We made some priceless contacts up North and we’re looking forward to the next tour in January. We confirmed a return gig in Coventry on a Friday night, which we will need to take some fans, we’ll arrange a bus and all go up together, it’s a great venue and the promoter is a top lad. Manchester has requested we come back also, and this could be as a support act for a big signed band…. (more to follow on this) One thing that is apparent is we might need to rethink certain things… possibly come up with a better story behind our name.. Ollie thinking of it on the toilet (although true) doesn’t leave much of an impression!! Haha.. So what’s next for The Critical, we’ll be tightening the screws and polishing the stage performance even more, doing as many gigs as we possibly can to promote ourselves. It’s back to the day jobs for The Critical boys tomorrow, it’s going to be tough after living like ‘Rock Stars’ for a week, but it could just be a taste of what’s to come.

Friday Night / Tour / Album Release

We can’t thank you ALL enough for coming and supporting us Friday at The Water Rats. We could never have imagined it would have all gone so smoothly, this is down to YOU our very loyal fans, also the staff at The Water Rats were brilliant.

If only we could do that every night!!! It was great to see some old faces and meet some new fans along the way. Oh.. one bad thing from the night tho…… Who ate my cup cake?

Right I’m off to pack my bag for the tour bus, leaving tomorrow morning at 10:00, a week of gigging round the UK hopefully acquiring some new Critters along the way…. Can’t wait!!!

Hi Team Critical! How are you?

Lovely thanks.

So you’ve now released your debut single No Composure, tell us about the track? It’s written about someone who you think is your friend, only to find out that they have been stabbing you in the back…it’s a reaction to that and a confrontation! They are no longer on our christmas card list!

You Still send Christmas Cards, wow that is so 2001?! ; ) So back on topic, does No Composure give listeners a good idea of what is to come from the album?
It does, it’s a good introduction to the rest of the album, the whole feel of the track sets the right mood.

And do you have any other single releases planned?
We do, but don’t want to give too much away too early!

How are you promoting the album, will we be able to see you live?
We are having an album launch party on Friday 13th August at The Monto Water Rats in Kings Cross (tickets £6 each). That night will kick of a mini tour of the UK for a week. We will be visiting radio stations and offering to play anywhere listeners request…even in there front rooms if they don’t mind the noise! Then playing local venues in the evening. We are currently confirming the cities that we will be playing that week!

We have to say you’ve taken a long time recording the album, would you do things differently if you did them again?
Not really. The time allowed us to write and gel as a band, as well as find our own sound. We were a fairly new band when we won STP but this album is where we are at right now. It’s about us and the society we live in today.

And importantly are you pleased with the finished product?
We are over the moon, couldn’t be happier with it!

Horah! Correct answer! What has the feedback you’ve received so far been like?
We’ve had great feedback so far, although most people have only heard our single ‘No Composure’…but the best is yet to come!

Great! We love ‘No composure’, it’s a catchy little track!

What’s the best way to keep up to date with you guys? (facebook, twitter?!)
Facebook, Twitter & Myspace are our choice of social networking! We will be updating these daily with blogs, videos and news over our album release, so sign up, add us and stay in the know!

Finally as we traditionally ask all Artists this, if you had to cook STP dinner what would you cook? (We’re a hungry bunch).

‘Calling all Critters, we’re coming to a venue near you!’

To promote the release of our debut album ‘Where Do We Go From Here?’ on the 16th August, The Critical is going on tour! After our launch party in London on the 13th (keep checking MySpace, details to be announced shortly!) we will be hitting the road and playing all over the country, in as many venues as possible! Since last summer’s big gigs at Redfest, the Turning Point Festival and of course the prestigious Isle of Wight Festival, the boys have been itching to get back in front of the fans!

We’ll also be stopping off at radio stations and asking fans where we should perform! It can be as interesting as you like, schools, offices even your bedroom!
